In emergency cases call 911

Here's what We Know:

  • Every one of us can prevent the spread of Covid-19. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Stay at home as much as possible, but when you have to leave home wear a mask, avoid common contact with others, such as hugging and shaking hands and maintain appropriate physical distance. Most importantly, if you have any of the symptoms of Covid-19, such as a cough, shortness of breath, or a fever, contact your doctor right away.
  • The test for Covid-19 is free — no one should worry about the cost of a test if they feel symptoms.

Our Plans During the Crisis:

  1. Plan for a realistic timeline: We have determined that we will only return to corporate worship when the medical professionals confirm that it is safe to do so. Until that time we will continue our online worship services with worship and communion in the parking lot on the fourth Sunday’s of each month, unless the situation gets worse.
  2. Minister to those with COVID-19: We encourage members to stay in touch with the elderly and sick and shut in members of the church.
  3. Communicate hope, and report only facts: When our community is in a state of fear and uncertainty, we have a great opportunity for ministry. We have a marvelous opportunity to speak in terms of our hope and confidence in God through this season. Fear is a psychological, emotional, and spiritual battle. We have the opportunity to offer comfort. And be sure to communicate accurate information. Sources such as the CDC ( Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and WHO (World Health Organization) should be our source for facts. It is important not to spread misinformation.
  4. Go digital, and be creative: We will continue to use the digital platforms of Facebook, Youtube,  and this website for our online worship services.  We will also continue to have prayer meetings, bible studies, church and auxiliary meetings through the Zoom platform.
  5. Stay connected through small groups: This is the time for small groups such as Sunday School classes and various auxiliaries to stay connected. Learn about the various online platforms such as Zoom and/or conference calls as a means of communication and fellowship.  Invite others outside of your groups to be your guests. This can be a wonderful evangelistic time. Be bold with sharing the gospel!
  6. Let’s be creative in our mission efforts: Bake something or cook a meal for a sick and shut-in member. Call, write a note or send an email message to encourage someone that God places in your spirit.  Serve members and neighbors in creative ways.
  7. Spend personal time with God.  Take this time as an opportunity to draw closer to God. Schedule a time each day to read the bible and engage God in prayer. Read a book on religious and cultural issues or simply read a book of interest. Understand this to be a time of personal and spiritual growth.

And pray for revival! Crises can also lead to re-awakenings. Most people come to faith during a crisis or at some turning point in their lives.  During this time people may realize their need for God and we must see this as an evangelical moment that is ripe with opportunities to win souls. Pray that God will give us the wisdom and knowledge to grow in our relationships with God and each other, and to make considerable gains for the kingdom of God.
